Dr. Gopal Krishna Sharma is currently serving as President of the MP Institute of Social Science Research, Ujjain, and formerly held the position of Professor and Head of the School of Studies in Political Science, Public Administration, and Human Rights at Vikram University. A distinguished academic, he was the first Gold Medallist in Social Science at Vikram University and began his career in government colleges before joining Vikram University in 1986, where he rose to the rank of Professor in 1998 and retired in 2016. He played a pivotal role in launching MA in Human Rights and undergraduate programs in Political Science, Economics, Sociology, and History. Dr. Sharma also held additional administrative roles including Coordinator of the Centre for Gandhian Studies, the IGNOU Study Centre, and temporary in-charge of JNIBM and the School of Ancient History. A prolific researcher and mentor, over 75 scholars including one D.Litt. have completed their PhDs under his guidance, with all successfully placed across sectors. He has authored and edited three books, published over 40 articles, and actively participated in numerous national and international academic forums.
