Course Exhibition | Introduction to Design | School of Design

The School of Design at Avantika University recently hosted a captivating Course Exhibition, spearheaded by the innovative students of the Foundation year. Centered around the theme of "Introduction to Design," the exhibition showcased the students' exploration of Design. The students delved deep into the intricacies of Design and brought their ideas to life through various mediums, including pencil sketches, watercolors, and digital art. The exhibition featured an array of artistic expressions, from paintings and murals to art coasters and sculptures, each piece reflecting a unique form of art. Students offered a glimpse into their understanding of design, and took the initiative to engage with attendees, explaining the inspiration and thought processes behind the art pieces. The exhibition highlighted diverse artistic movements such as Cubism, Constructivism, Deconstructivism, Minimalism, Art Nouveau, Surrealism, and the Renaissance, offering a global perspective. Each piece was designed to represent the essence of these styles, demonstrating the student's ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical creation.

The School of Management at Avantika University conducted an enriching Industrial Visit to the Eagle Seeds and Biotech Pvt Ltd., Indore for the 5th and 3rd-semester students of BBA. This visit offered a valuable opportunity to witness the firsthand innovative processes and technologies that drive the agricultural sector. Students gained insights into seed processing, biotechnology applications, and the overall functioning of a leading agricultural company. Avantika University recently hosted an enriching iConnect Session featuring Balachandra Shetty, a renowned Google Design Sprint Coach. The session provided students with the invaluable opportunity to learn from a seasoned professional with a wealth of industry experience. During the session, Shetty shared insights from his experience working with top-tier companies, including Microsoft. He recounted various projects and challenges he encountered throughout his career. The session was based on Learn by Doing approach, emphasizing hands-on learning. He encouraged students to engage actively in the design process, highlighting the importance of iterative development and the power of prototyping in creating successful Designs.

Guru Purnima Celebration | NSS | Avantika University

The NSS Club of Avantika University celebrated Guru Purnima with the students to celebrate and honor all those individuals who contribute to the overall well-being of students, and who bless and pray for their best. A Guru is considered to be the beacon of knowledge, the one who imparts teachings and lifelong learnings, to students to tread onto the path of light, dispeling darkness, while pursuing their dreams. This Guru Purnima, the celebration continued for 3 days, the first day was celebrated on campus, and the second day was all about conducting sessions in Government schools, the third day concluded with the students of Avantika University teaching the students of government school to make flowers, afterward which they gave it to their teachers.

SPIC MACAY | Kankana Singh | Manipuri Artiste

Avantika University organized an enriching SPIC MACAY session, featuring the exquisite traditional dance form of Manipur. The session was led by the renowned artist Kankana Singh, who brought the rich cultural heritage of Manipuri art to life. A highly engaging workshop, students joyfully participated and showed keen interest in exploring the art form. Kankana Singh captivated the audience with her expert demonstration of Manipuri martial arts techniques and dance mudras, showcasing the grace and precision inherent in this traditional form. During the performance, she also highlighted the cultural significance and history behind the art. Students were introduced to the intricate art of creating Manipuri figurines. She guided them through the process, sharing techniques and stories that added depth to the learning experience. Second time in a row, even this year's SPIC MACAY session was a resounding success. It was an exciting and innovative session that provided a unique blend of performance, education, and cultural exchange for students.

BSNL Telephone Exchange | Industrial Visit | School of Engineering

The School of Engineering at Avantika University conducted an Industrial visit to the BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) Telephone Exchange, Ujjain for the students of the second-year batch of B.Tech (CSE), to understand and explore the digital technology associated with operating an exchange on the national level. The fruitful visit provided students with knowledge of the proliferation of indigenous technologies to boost the communications ecosystem across India. BSNL is a premier government telecom company, that deals with mobile voice and internet services. Spread all over India, students got first-hand insights into the operations and services of the fourth-largest wireless telecommunications and largest wireline telecommunications network company in the nation.

Aarambh 2024 | Overall Highlights | Avantika University

Avantika University recently hosted an extraordinary Aarambh 2024, the student Orientation Program from July 1st to 6th. The event marked the celebration of welcoming the new batch of Bachelor of Design (BDes) and Master of Design (MDes) students, setting the stage for their academic journey with a series of inspirational and engaging activities. Each day commenced with Design Talks from 10 AM to 12:30 PM, where eminent personalities like Wasim Khan, Punit Chawla, Anuj Sharma, and Lalon shared their invaluable insights and experiences. These sessions were a treasure trove of knowledge, offering students a glimpse into the world of design through the eyes of seasoned professionals. Afternoons were dedicated to hands-on workshops from 2 PM to 5:30 PM, featuring activities such as Clay Modeling, Personalized Bag Painting, and Illustrations. These workshops allowed students to unleash their creativity and hone their skills under the guidance of experts. Evenings were reserved for the Freshman Fiesta from 6 PM to 9 PM, a vibrant and engaging segment where celebrities like the famous designer E Suresh, storyteller Laksh Maheshwari, and stand-up comic Pranit More shared their experiences and entertained the audience. Their presence added a touch of glamour and excitement, making each evening memorable. On July 3rd, DJ Rahul from Indore set the stage on fire with an electrifying DJ night, followed by a lively pizza party. This evening was a perfect blend of music, dance, and delicious food, allowing students to unwind and bond with their peers. The evening of July 5th started with an awesome fashion show, showcasing the creativity and talent of the students. The fashion show was a spectacle of style and innovation, leaving everyone in awe. The concluding day, July 6th, featured an experiential learning tour to Nakhrali Dhani, offering students a unique opportunity to explore cultural heritage and local lifestyle. This tour was not only educational but also a delightful experience, providing a perfect end to the week-long event. Aarambh 2024 was an integral part of the School of Design's Orientation Program for freshers and was celebrated as a grand success. The meticulously planned events, insightful sessions, and engaging activities left a lasting impression on all participants. Dr. Nitin Rane, the Vice Chancellor of Avantika University, expressed his pride, saying, "Aarambh 2024 has set a new benchmark for orientation programs. It is heartwarming to see our new students so enthusiastic and eager to learn. We are committed to providing them with the best environment and opportunities to thrive. Avantika University organized the Ratlam chapter of the prestigious Samman Samaroh, a celebration of hard work, where the meritorious students of Class 12th were honored and praised for their dedication to their studies. Conducted in association with Bansal News Network, a total of 350 students and parents became a part of the ceremony. Day 4 | Aarambh | Avantika University

The 4th Day of Aarambh featured programs offering a unique blend of technical, artistic, and comedic experiences, catering to the newcomers of Avantika University. The day commenced with a D'Talk session by Puneet Chawla, founder of Design wings UX/UI School, where he demystified the concept of User Experience and User Interface Design. The interactive talk cum workshop provided students with a foundational understanding of the principles behind user-centered design. Participants explored various methodologies for creating intuitive and user-friendly app experiences, from user psychology to interface navigation. The afternoon session was led by NSD (National School of Drama) which gave students the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of acting. Organized by an experienced group of instructors, the hours-long workshop provided an engaging introduction to techniques for effective vocal projection, emotional expression, and stage presence. Participants gained valuable insights applicable to both theatrical performance and everyday communication. The last and the most exciting end to the day was brought about by the iConnect session, featuring Standup Comedian, Pranit More. The comedian, known for his relatable humor, presented a set that explored the often-hilarious realities of college life. The happiness resonated with the audience, with the sound of laughter and applause echoing within the auditorium.

Day 2 | Aarambh | Avantika University

The Day 2 of Aarambh, unfolded with even more enthusiasm. With the day starting with an exciting D'Talk Session by Lalon, where he shared his views on design. About how a Designer looks at the world from a different perspective. He said it is the 4C's- Creativity, Critical thinking, collaboration, and Communication, that every aspiring designer should stick to, to create even more engaging content. It is the responsibility of designers to make things easy to understand, and that is what Lalon tries to achieve through his work. In the interactive session, everyone made paper crafts to understand the power of Design in making our daily lives convenient. He showed his remarkable and highly acclaimed movies on Puppets, Lalon and Q, and Kankhua. He shared his inspiration behind designing toys, with which he tries to bring a smile to everyone's face. The afternoon session was all about arts and crafts, where students painted colorful illustrations on Tote Bags, they drew human figurines sitting under the clear sky, amidst the beauty of Avantika University's nature and surroundings. With such activities, the day concluded, with everyone eagerly waiting, excited about what the upcoming Day 3 of Aarambh would look like.

Day 3 | Aarambh | Avantika University

The Day 3 of Aarambh celebrations witnessed vibrant celebrations. The day as planned was filled with a variety of engaging activities. The event began with a D'Talk session by Waseem Khan, Director at Lemon Design Pvt Ltd. It was an interactive session where students engaged in group discussions, led by the Designer, followed by team-building exercises. Following this, the students delved into creative craft sessions of Workshop Wonders, where they explored painting and other hands-on projects like creating personalized tote bags, other sessions were about Ways of seeing and Clay modeling. The craft workshops were a hit, allowing students to express their creativity and make unique, colorful pieces. As the day progressed, the celebration culminated with an energetic DJ session. The atmosphere was electric as students danced and enjoyed a mix of music genres, bringing a joyful and enthusiastic end to the day. The event was a resounding success, providing new students with a warm and memorable welcome to Avantika family.

Day 1 | Aarambh | Avantika University

Day 1 of Aarambh, the Student Orientation Program for the students of the School of Design at Avantika University commenced with much glitz and glamour, and concluded on a pleasant note, setting the stage for a more exciting journey ahead. The day began with the special felicitation of Dr. Michele Petrucci and Dr. Curt Schieb from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. This was followed by an interactive D'Talk session by the founder of Button Masala, a fashion brand that adapts innovative and unique sustainable fashion design with no cutting and sewing. He shared his idea behind developing a brand, which has now come a long way to establish itself at the epitome of sustainability in the world. It was followed by Workshop Wonders, where students indulegd in art and craft sessions, oragnised in association with Pidilite. Students drew inspiration from nature and their surroundings to create design of their choice using water colors on canvas bags, it included other fun-creative activities like Clay crafting and Ways of Seeing. The evening show began with an exciting session by E Suresh. He shared his vision and expertise behind the development of his animation studio, Studio Eeksauraus, thereby inspiring the next generation of creative minds. To sum up, the Day 1 of Aarambh was marked by learnings and entertainment, witnessing a perfect concoction for the students to inaugurate their Design Journey.

The School of Engineering at Avantika University, Ujjain, in association with the EduSkills, inaugurated its one-week AICTE ATAL-sponsored Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled "Google AI-ML" from June 24-28, 2024. The FDP aims to impart knowledge of Machine Learning and Computer Vision that prioritizes deep insights into CNNs and Object Detection Models. The FDP will prove to be an added advantage to all the faculty members pursuing research in Deep learning and would help offer quality projects to the students. The FDP will be conducted as a boot camp focussing on 30% theory and 70% hands-on activities with real-time use cases. Dr. Surendra Rahmatkar, Dy. Pro. Vice Chancellor and Dean, of the School of Engineering, along with Dr. Ashish Bansal, Dean of Research and Consultancy addressed the participants from various Institutions and Universities. Google-certified trainer Mr. Pawan Kumar S. V. graced the intellectual meet as a key resource person for the 5-day Faculty Development Program.

The NSS Wing of Avantika University on "World Against Child Labour Day" on Wednesday, June 12th, 2024, raised their voices against the evil practice of child labor, a subject to worry, that is still quite rampant in many parts of the world. The students of the University in a collective effort, distributed books and biscuits to the children in need, conducting teaching sessions for them, and creating awareness through posters. Every child deserves a chance to learn, grow, and enjoy their childhood free from the burden of labor. The students and Avantika University continue to raise awareness and work together to create a future where every child can pursue their dreams and live a life full of promises. The students of the School of Management at Avantika University made the first publication of "Arsh - Farsh - Arsh", a unique yet insightful book compiled from the chapters written by the talented students of BBA 1st Year. The book took days of hard work by the students, who sat through day and night, employing creativity and intellectual knowledge to draft the content, striving to enter into the bestsellers list. The book was further enhanced by the valuable inputs from Dr. Harish Bapat, the distinguished Dean of the School of Management.

Session | Creating yourself from Person to Personality

Avantika University organized an inspirational yet informative session on "Creating Yourself from Person to Personality" for all its faculties and staff on Monday, June 3rd, 2024. The expert talk was delivered by Ms. Nishtha Thaker, MD, and Founder Trustee of Spreading Smile Charity Trust on 3rd June 2024. She gave real-life instances, of her own life, about how she met challenges all along and stood still in the face of it. She emphasized that hope and patience build you to steer clear of the darkest times. One should have the courage to let go of the things they cannot change, accepting and emerging even stronger is the best method to deal with any trouble that comes the way. No problem has the strength to scar you for your entire life, and in the end you will realize the amount of strength you've gained while reminiscing the successful journey of overcoming the struggles.

World Anti Tobacco Day

To raise awareness about the dangers of consuming tobacco and encourage individuals to quit or avoid using tobacco products, the NSS Wing of Avantika University conducted an Anti-Tobacco Day awareness program on Friday, May 31st, 2024, on what people can do to claim their right to healthy living and protect future generations from its menace. The event aimed to educate people about the life threatening risks associated with tobacco use and provide resources for those seeking to quit. 15 GIS staff members attended the program. Mr. Aditya Awasthi and Ms. Harshita Choubey delivered a keynote address on the harmful effects of tobacco, covering topics such as cancer, heart disease, and lung disease. Two individuals shared their stories of quitting tobacco, inspiring the audience with their struggles and triumphs. At the end of the event, participants took a collective pledge to stop using tobacco products, marking a commitment to a healthier lifestyle.

Expert Session | Work-Life Balance

Avantika University organized an Expert Session session on Work-Life Balance for its staff members including faculty and administrative personnel on Thursday, April 18th, 2024. The session included interactive group discussions, and practical activities designed to equip attendees with strategies for managing work responsibilities alongside personal life. Eminent Psychologist, Ms. Megha Kalchuri Solanki led the workshop focused on enhancing work-life balance. The event was aimed at addressing the benefits and importance of achieving a healthy balance between the two. Techniques such as prioritization, task batching, and the use of digital tools to enhance productivity were tailored. The work-life balance session was highly successful in providing the employees with valuable insights to improve work-life balance. The workshop delivered was well-received by everyone, indicating a clear demand for ongoing support in this area. The university plans to incorporate more such sessions in the future, reflecting its commitment to the well-being of its staff.

World Earth Day | NSS Wing | Avantika University

On the occasion of World Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2024, the NSS Wing of Avantika University honored the achievements of the Environmental movements and marked the celebrations by conducting a Poster Presentation event for the students. The students presented wide range of creativity by creating aesthetic handmade art pieces. The event emphasized the need to protect Earth, by boycotting the use and menace caused by non-biodegradable plastic products. All the models promoted the idea of Planet Vs. Plastics, thus fostering a sense of togetherness among the students. The event aimed at developing the critical and creative thinking abilities of the students towards sustainable practices. It inculcated the need to protect Earth's natural resources for future generations.
