Divya Ann Samuel is a distinguished academician and legal scholar with a strong grounding in both international and domestic legal systems. A Gold Medalist in B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, India, she showcased academic brilliance from the very beginning of her legal journey. Building on this foundation, she pursued her postgraduate studies at the esteemed University of Glasgow, United Kingdom, where she earned an LL.M. in International Law with Merit, further strengthening her academic and professional credentials. Her academic journey has been enriched by valuable hands-on learning through internships with different Government and Non-Government Organisations. These early experiences in real-world legal settings inspired a strong interest in international legal systems and social justice, motivating her to take up advanced research in the field. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Law at the National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, where her research continues to explore critical intersections of international law, law related to narcotic drugs, constitutional law, and criminal law. Her academic capabilities are further affirmed by her qualification for the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) twice, in 2022 and 2023, marking her readiness for academic and research-oriented roles in higher education. Professionally, Divya has contributed to legal academia through her tenure at Balaji Law College, Pune, where she served as a faculty member. Her role included teaching, mentoring students, and engaging in academic evaluation, for which she was also appointed as an examiner by Pune University, and a recognition of her legal expertise and evaluative capabilities. Beyond her teaching endeavors, she has been deeply engaged in legal research and writing. With over fifteen publications in reputed national and international law journals, her writings demonstrate intellectual rigor and a nuanced understanding of intricate legal questions spanning international law, constitutional law, intellectual property rights, criminal law, and corporate law.
