Kamlesh Golhani is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of Precision Agriculture, with over a decade of expertise in teaching, research, and field-level practice. He earned his Ph.D in Agrotechnology from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Kuala Lumpur, where his pioneering doctoral research focused on the early detection of orange spotting disease in oil palm through hyperspectral remote sensing and artificial neural networks. He holds a Master’s degree in Geoinformatics from Barkatullah University, Bhopal, and a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture from Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola. Dr. Golhani’s core expertise lies in the integration of Remote Sensing, GIS, GPS, and Data Mining methodologies for crop monitoring, plant disease detection, and water stress assessment, with his research spanning diverse agricultural landscapes and employing state-of-the-art technologies. He has authored 25 scholarly publications, several of which are highly cited in leading international journals, collectively amassing over 600 citations. Prior to his doctoral studies, he served as a Research Associate at the Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering (CIAE), Bhopal. Following the completion of his Ph.D., he has held faculty positions at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), NCERT–Regional Institute of Education (RIE), and SAGE University. His current academic pursuits extend to emerging domains such as landscaping and carbon standards, with a distinct emphasis on sustainability.A recipient of multiple national and international accolades, Dr. Golhani is also a lifetime member of several eminent agricultural societies across India and abroad.
