With a dynamic blend of design and storytelling, Ankita Anand is a seasoned design educator and communication design specialist who brings over 7 years of rich experience across the design industry and academia. Her forte lies in fashion communication, visual storytelling, and craft documentation. A proud alumna of NIFT Gandhinagar, Ankita holds a Bachelor's in Fashion Communication, followed by a Master’s in Journalism and Mass Communication from Amity University. Her passion for digital experiences led her to earn a PG Certification in UI/UX Design from IIT Roorkee, adding a tech-forward edge to her design experience. Ankita’s professional journey began with Garvi Gurjari (Gujarat State Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation), where she worked for four years. She collaborated with artisan communities across Gujarat, facilitating design development workshops and helping artisans create products that seamlessly blend heritage with contemporary aesthetics. Recognizing her contribution to India’s vibrant craft sector, she is empanelled as a designer with the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, prestigious acknowledgment of her impact. At present, Ankita continues to work as a design consultant and social development strategist. She currently leads brand strategy and visual identity development for Jeevika, an NGO renowned for its work in community-led social enterprises. At Avantika University, Ankita brings a research-led, hands-on pedagogy into the classroom. Her teaching is rooted in exploration, empathy, and innovation, encouraging students to look beyond aesthetics and dive deep into the socio-cultural context of design. Her academic interests include craft documentation, sustainability, brand storytelling, and user-centered communication. With her multidisciplinary training and grassroots experience, Ankita is deeply committed to shaping a new generation of designers, ones who are creatively fearless, socially aware, and driven by impact.
