Shilpa Sawant

Shilpa Sawant is a communication professional by training and education. Her professional experience spans over a decade with organizations of repute, including the India Habitat Centre (IHC), New Delhi; the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad; the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA); and NMIMS, Mumbai. She has been invited to deliver guest lectures and conduct training in Management Development Programs by public and private sector organizations. Passionate about teaching communication as a strategy, her areas of specialization and research are corporate communication, reputation building, and development communication. Her research work has been acknowledged at a range of national and international conferences. She has authored a book titled Unraveling India through the Travel Trilogy of V.S. Naipaul. She has mentored the global as well as regional winners of the Google Online Marketing Challenge and was invited to Google headquarters in California and the Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore. Following this, she served as the first Indian national on the Global Academic Panel of Google for the year 2017. Ms. Sawant is the only researcher from India among 27 others from different nations to be invited to the Honors Seminar hosted by NCA, Washington, in 2021. She has presented her research at the Eastern Academy of Management, USA, and the British Academy of Management, London. She also serves as a reviewer for journals in the domain of general management with a specific focus on organizational communication and has recently been shortlisted as an emerging reviewer for Management Communication Quarterly.
