BDes students in the 5th semester of UX Design visited three places in Ujjain as a field visit. The students with Dheeraj Chugh, Assistant Professor, School of Design at Avantika University, visited the Bio Methane plant, Waste Transfer Plant & 3R Bazaar in Ujjain. The purpose of the visit was to connect better with their ongoing course on Sustainability and have a closer look at the massive waste problem and how UMC (Ujjain Municipal Corporation) is trying to deal with it.

The students came across some facts like around 225 Metric tons of waste is generated per day in Ujjain city, and to carry this waste the vehicle consumes 4500-5000 liters of diesel per day in the waste collection. The major challenge faced by the people working at these centers is to segregate the waste into different categories.
