Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director – IIM Indore delivered the Foundation Lecture on the occasion of university’s 5th Foundation Day. He is an is an educationist – an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He was the Dean of SDA Bocconi India campus, Professor at SDA Bocconi, Milan, and has taught at IIM Lucknow and XLRI. His core area is Human Resource Management, wherein he focuses on Negotiation, Mediation, Arbitration, Strategic HRM, and Leadership.

The topic of the lecture was “The Changing Paradigms of Leadership in the post Industry 4.0 World”. He started the address by talking about Design thinking and how the design thinking process involves understanding emotions and feelings. He specifically mentioned about auto directive world how the role of educators will change in the future. He explained about decision making by machines, human beings and also talked about how science and philosophy works.

The highlight of the lecture was the mention of leadership, leadership skills and about the leaders of tomorrow. He narrated a story from the Mahabharata and concluded the talk by quoting – ‘Great leaders choose right over choosing easy’.
