115 Students graduated at Samahvan 2023 – Avantika University's Second Convocation Ceremony

Avantika University – The MIT Pune Campus at Ujjain observed its Second Convocation Ceremony Samahvan 2023 on 12th January 2023. The event was graced by Padma Bhushan Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Eminent Scientist & Chancellor, Nalanda University, Hon. Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Mohan Yadav, Sanjay Dhande, Chancellor, Avantika University. The special guests were Dr. Bharat Sharan Singh, Chairman, MPPURC, and Dr. Akhilesh Pandey, Vice Chancellor, Vikram University.

The Convocation began after the Hon’ble Chancellor of the University Dr. Sanjay Dhande declared the convocation open. In his welcome speech, he mentioned the role of education in an individual’s all-inclusive growth and how graduands have adapted to new skills to rise in their academic success. He completed his speech by wishing the graduands and urged them to stay in connect.

The Vice Chancellor of Avantika University, Dr. Nitin Rane presented the annual report. In his address, he spoke about the unique project-based learning model of the University, and how the University has been acknowledged across various platforms for the same. He also mentioned the multiple achievements of the University and student achievements. Some of the University achievements he referred to were the Emerging University of Central India award, UI Greenmetric World University Rankings, Dainik Bhaskar’s Madhya Pradesh Pride Award, “GOLD BAND” in “Employability and Start Up Ecosystem Excellence” rankings, “DIAMOND BAND in “INDIA ACADEMIC RANKINGS”, and Green Champion Certificate. The student achievements he spoke about were International A'Design Award in the Medical Devices design category, the 1st Prize at Young Entrepreneur Summit – 2022, the 1st Prize in Design Disha, and the first runner-up award at IICE- CurveBall'22.

He completed his address by announcing the launch of new programs at Avantika University in commerce and legal studies.

The special guest Dr. Bharat Sharan Singh, Chairman, MPPURC delivered the special lecture. Addressing the convocation ceremony, he mentioned the special day of Vivekananda Jayanti and talked about the Amrut Mahotsav. He spoke about the University’s value of Create, Change, and Transform and connected it to creating jobs, changing India’s target from a developing nation to a developed nation, and how teachers transform students, who will eventually transform India.

He completed the lecture by congratulating the graduands, their parents, and the University.

Another special guest Dr. Akhilesh Pandey, Vice Chancellor, Vikram University, also addressed the convocation ceremony. In his special address, he talked about the youth of the nation, and Swami Vivekananda’s birthday as he was the youth icon. He mentioned his association with Avantika University since 2017 and how he is happy with the growth of the University.

He completed his address by mentioning the 5 resolutions taken by Swami Vivekananda and how they are relevant even today.

The Hon'ble Padma Bhushan Dr. Vijay Bhatkar delivered the convocation address. In his captivating address, the Chief Guest emphasized the collaborative growth of the youth and the nation. He mentioned education’s contribution to nation-building, and how India will rise to a level that hasn’t been imagined.

He also praised the university for its accomplishments and its steady yet great rise in the previous years and completed his address. This year Avantika University awarded 30 MDes students with master’s degrees, 77 BDes students, and 08 BTech students with bachelor’s degrees respectively. The toppers of the batch from respective programs were awarded gold and silver medals along with the citation. In all, 06 students were awarded gold medals and 07 were awarded silver medals for their top academic performance.

Higher education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav joined the convocation in virtual mode.

The Vote of Thanks was presented by Dr. Manesh Patil, Registrar, Avantika University.

The ceremony ended after the Chancellor – Avantika University announced the closing of the Convocation of 2023 followed by the National Anthem.
