Avantika University celebrated its second design-tech fest Chakraview focused on the theme, 'Technology Designed to Benefit the Society'. Chakraview rollicks the collaboration and interdependence of Design and Technology that emerged as DESIGNEERING. The fest was power-packed with various activities that intermingle the design and technology including Rupantaran, Programming with Python, Digital Storytelling, Crack the UX Code and Chitrakshar.
Commencing the digital design-tech fest, the Technical Event Secretary, Prantik Saha, Technical Event Secretary, Student Council threw light on the theme of the fest which was followed by the opening speech by Sanyukta Kashalkar Karve, Coordinator of Student Affairs where she briefed about the whole idea behind ChakraView.
Rupantaran required students to design an innovative solution to solve today’s major social problem - wearing a mask. Being the designers, students identify the problem of putting the mask - uneasiness and carrying it all time. Students designed various types of face mask out of cotton fabric in such a way that it solves its issues, and also it can be converted into some other usable product when not in use. The idea behind the competition was to come up with a creative solution in which students' work got highly appreciated that motivated them to set higher benchmarks for themselves in the future. Avantika Potdar and Ranu Beniwal from the B.Des Fashion foundation year came up with artistic ideas and won the competition.
Programming with Python was an interactive event designed for aspiring Engineers to give exposure to the students to live coding problems and build coding skills in python programming language. The workshop extended knowledge resources to the basic Python programming language syntax, data types, variables, conditional statements, loops, data structures, and then gave them problems to solve. Participants represented a unique solution to the snags, and the ones that won the first prize through their fast-learning and execution skills were Nitya Kasturey, BTech-2nd year, and Muskan Jain & Anannya Mittal from BTech-2nd year won 2nd prize.
Storytelling is an art of describing the social and cultural activity as a means of entertainment, education, cultural preservation, or instilling more values. The event focused on igniting imagination and creating emotional bonds through storytelling digitally in the form of sketches, videos, or digital art. Learners explored their creative area and illustrated fascinating stories. The winner of the competition was Vaibhav Tiwari, BDes - 1st year and second prize to Shruti Singh, MDes - 1st year.
Learning and practicing good user experience requires a degree of empathy with users and understanding exactly how to solve problems. It is about creating things that enhance the users’ experience. The event was to come up with an innovative concept in the realm of social good through designing an application (screens and wireframe) that provided an opportunity to widen the scope into User Experience Design. Participants explored their best creative sides, and Dhawal M Pillai, BDes- Foundation year bagged the first prize, and Anant Vijay, BDes- 1st Year won second prize.
Chitrakshar was fun-filled with brainstorming and splashing creativity to draw products resembling a particular alphabet. This event attracted students with wild and free imaginations and observations and keeps thinking out of the box. The word given was SOCIAL, so participants need to draw a product that visually looks like the letter S. The winner of this competition was Himika Adhikary, BDes- 1st year, and Anvesha Dubey, BDes- 1st year won the second prize.
