With an aim to impart the knowledge about how visual thinking works, Avantika University had Sanjay Reddy, an alumnus of IAAD (Istituto d'Arte Applicata e Design, Italy) and the founder of REDTIN studio, a Delhi based creative studio specialising in illustrations. Sanjay started off his session through narrating his experience - confronting his parents about taking up design and, hilarious encounters while studying design in Italy and brought a gullible energy into the room.
Drawing to structure one's thoughts and ideas, Sanjay took the students on a visual journey as he revisited his transitioning from engineering to design along the three illustrations - The Heart, The Mind and The Soul. At the end, students were exercised to represent contrast by drawing a snowman (old/young and zoomed in/zoomed out) to make them understand how to properly tackle the design prompts. In sum, the session was truly engaging, and the key takeaways on mindful visual communication were priceless.
