Design Marathon | Reconnoitring Indian heritage with Hands On Studios | 1st March’19
1st March 2019 proved to be a fabulous yet hectic day for the students for they had a Design Marathon to run. Hands On Studios is a workshop-based studio in Pune which works hard to connect the current generation with the roots of India’s great heritage and traditional art. Arpita Banerjee and Siddharth Gaikwad conducted an embellishing session where the students learned about various traditional art forms and the immensely hidden wealth in the form of knowledge which transcribed the very essence of every Indian. The session became the foundation around which the Design Marathon revolved and gave a solid perspective to the students on what was supposed to be the essence of their masterpieces. The 15-hour Design Marathon proved to be a mind racking part of the session as the students had to digitally empower the artisans for global exposure through designing a Mobile App, Idea, Website, Chatbot or any Design Channel.
