Product Exhibition | Design with Natural Materials | 14th Feb'20
With a growing communal concern for environment friendly designs, the Design with Natural Materials course was introduced to the Industrial Design students, their properties and applications in product design, with a focus on functionality, efficiency, performance, and environmental awareness. Led by the faculty Rajat Akre along with Krishnakant Pal as co-faculty, the course progressed with students' engagements with the various local artisans which involved hands-on learning by identifying and using the natural materials locally found in the area. This combination of material and experiential learning helped students to walk away being empowered to try and learn more.
Towards the end of the course, the students, with the developed sensitivity towards materials, created new design possibilities with changing material properties and aesthetics, for the materialization of future designs.
