The faculty Ravikumar Jadhav led the course on Design Project - IoT. The other member of the course team was the Dean of School of Engineering, Prasheel Suryawanshi. The course focused on equipping students with the knowledge resources to design an IoT application by exposing them to major concepts of IoT, along with connecting and assembling components, establishing communication, and value addition to generated data. Students used various programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, Lua, etc. and had the freedom to use any open-source Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as eclipse, Arduino, Zero Brane Studio, Raspbian, etc. The learners used hardware platforms such as Intel Galileo, Raspberry Pi, NodeMCU, etc. to give shape to their project. The course enabled the students to build an IoT application by networking physical devices or things using Wi-Fi or other types of networks. Items such as physical devices or sensors such as biosensors, actuators, home appliances, etc. were used. The project included clouds like ThingSpeak, MQTT, and various other services like HTTP, IFTTT, etc. The students applied their problem-solving skills and integrated analysis, design phase, and product planning to build real- world IoT application.
