The course on Critical and Creative Thinking for Master of Design students was led by Sanyukta Kashalkar- Karve. The course aimed at teaching the students "How to Think" and not just "What to Think". The course was divided into three phases namely critical thinking, creative thinking and amalgamation of both. The students were initially exposed to facets of various forms of thinking and their applications. The course progressed with the introduction of the dimensions of critical thinking (Slow, Rational, Evidence-based) where students learned to develop critique about an idea/situation using a systematic and deliberate thinking process. The next phase exposed them to the dimensions of creative thinking and how to develop it as a habit and as a mindset. The students further learned to develop Visual and Psychomotor thinking through making and building things and inculcated abilities to view complex problems by combining critical and creative thinking.
