The need for understanding the computer architecture is must for the students to make effective and efficient use of the software tools and computer languages to create various programs. The course on Computer Architecture was led by the faculty Ravikumar Jadhav where students were introduced to a broad range of computation structures used in computation, as well as general purpose architecture. The course encompassed details of computer architecture from both software and hardware orientation. The students got an in-depth view of the hardware and software components of the computer and their functions, which was further demonstrated by integrating the design of ALU and CPU data path with 8-bit register and, control unit with microprogram which culminated in designing a simple 8-bit computer. In addition, students were able to simulate various algorithms on the designed 8-bit computer using Logisim.
