Designing a shoe for Onchek, African luxury brand
The challenge
Onchek only sells limited shoes (3 - 4) designs and their more focus is on clothes. Moreover the designs they sell are traditional african prints but the shoes are simple leather shoes with no prints on it.
The solution
All the products which Onchek sells have traditional african prints on them so I tried to incorporate the same in their shoes as well. The design used on sneakers is traditional Ndebele art. Ndebele house painting is a style of African art practiced by the Southern Ndebele people of South Africa. The art will retain the traditional look and the sneakers will give modern feel as well.
