Design Scholarship Test (DST)

What is DST?

The Design Scholarship Test is an entrance and scholarship examination exclusively for MIT ID Indore – Avantika University. DST is for design aspirants who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Design (BDes) and Master of Design (MDes).

Entry Requirement for BDes
  • 10+2 from any stream (State Board/CBSE/ICSE/ISC/CIE/IB/NIOS or equivalent exam)
  • 50% aggregate marks in the 12th examination
  • Valid Score of Design Scholarship Test (DST), MIT Design Aptitude Test (DAT), UCEED, NID-DAT, NIFT
Entry Requirement for MDes
  • Graduate from any stream (10+2+3)
  • 50% aggregate marks in Graduation
  • Valid Score of Design Scholarship Test (DST), MIT Design Aptitude Test (DAT), CEED, NID-DAT, NIFT
DST Scholarship
  • 50% Scholarship on tuition fee for students securing 90% & above score in DST
  • 25% Scholarship on tuition fee for students securing between 80 – 90 % score in DST

Admissions Procedure and Guidelines


  • Step 1: Register for the DST (Design Scholarship Test). There is NO application fee required for DST registration.
  • Step 2: An automated confirmation email will be sent to your registered email ID. Log in again using the provided credentials to complete the application form.
  • Step 3: Provide the required details in the application form.
  • Step 4: Upload a passport-size photograph, accept the declaration, and submit the online application form.
  • Step 5: For online exam mode – Upon scrutiny, verification, and acceptance of the application form, a test link will be generated and sent to the candidate's registered email ID, along with all the required details (e.g., login credentials, system requirements, and other Rules & Regulations).
  • Step 6: After the completion of DST Round 1, results will be declared and qualified candidates will be informed about Round 2. The qualified candidates will be required to upload their portfolio on shared G Drive link within 10 MB of maximum file size.
  • Step 7: Round 2, The portfolio Evaluation (PE) followed by Personal Interviews (PI), will be conducted online via Zoom. Qualified candidates must choose a date for their Round 2 Test (PEPI).
  • Step 8: After the completion of both the rounds and combined evaluation, an Offer Letter will be sent to the Shortlisted Candidates.
  • Step 9: Prospective students must accept the offer letter, and after acceptance, payment of the fee must be made within the given duration of time.
Once the payment is completed, admission will be confirmed.

The scholarship criteria will be based on the combined marks obtained in both rounds.Candidate(s) who successfully surpass the cutoff criteria will qualify for the scholarship.The Admission Committee determines the procedures, grades, and weightage each year.

The selection criteria are under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Admission Committee, and their decisions, as well as those of the Management, on any matters related to admission, processes, and selection, are final. Any direct or indirect attempt to influence the Admission Committee, its members, academic office bearers, or management will result in the automatic disqualification of the candidate(s).
